Slow Cooker Spinach Artichoke Dip Recipe
We all have our favorite snacks that we just can’t say no to, and for me? That’s spinach and artichoke sauce!
I
don’t even remember when I first discovered it, but since whenever it was it has become my choice for any restaurant. I have even been known to choose where to eat based on how good their spinach sauce is!
Spinach and artichoke sauce is always better hot and cool, so it’s not a big contender for the curbside pickup or delivery options we’ve been using for the past few years. So it was time to learn how to do it myself from home!
This spinach and artichoke sauce recipe is made in the slow cooker for two reasons: it makes it SUPER easy to cook, and it keeps it warm and cool! You can put some in a ramekin and leave the rest in the slow cooker to keep it warm while you eat the first bite.
Or if you’re having a party, it’s perfect for making a big lot for a whole crowd! Check out how easy it is to make this Crock Pot Spinach Artichoke Dip:
How can I
make this Slow Cooker Spinach Spinach Quarchoke Dip dairy-free?
I’m lactose intolerant, so I like to do plant-based exchanges whenever I can. The recipe included below is for a regular dairy-filled version, but I’ve found great trade-offs for most of the dairy-based ingredients in this recipe at my local supermarket, including cream cheese, mayonnaise, and sour cream.
The one thing I haven’t found a substitute for yet is Parmesan cheese, but if you’re just lactose intolerant and not completely dairy-free, you may be able to handle Parmesan, as it’s commonly tolerable by people with lactose intolerance. However, everyone’s body is different, so feel free to skip or underestimate it if you find a plant-based option! {And if you find one, let me know!}

This recipe as written is about 6 servings, but let’s face it, it’s so good that you’ll want more than one serving. You can feed more people with this recipe by simply doubling or even tripling it, just make sure your clay pot is big enough to handle! The recipe as written requires a 1.5-quart slow cooker, but you can get {affiliate link!} a 3K slow cooker. here or even a 5K slow cooker. here.
However, your cooking method will remain the same, and three hours should still be enough to cook it. If not, add more cooking time and simply check it in 10-15 minute increments until you like it.
Can children help make this recipe?
Kids can ALWAYS help in the kitchen! This recipe is so simple that they can help with the whole process. Just be sure to keep them in mind when you take the dip out of the slow cooker – the sauce and slow cooker will be hot!
