Slow Cooker Lasagna – Slow Cooking Perfected

Best slow cooker lasagna recipe

This

slow cooker lasagna is perfect if you want to make a very delicious lasagna ahead of time so you can have it ready for when you get home

.

At the end of cooking, you should have a delicious lasagna that has uniform layers of Bolognese, cheese sauce, and pasta leaves. It is completed with a generous amount of cheese that helps give it its golden brown color.

This lasagna is fairly easy to make, but it requires a little time to prepare compared to most other slow cooker recipes.

You’ll find this dish great if you need to cook for a crowd as you need to feed about six people and maybe more if you have some side dishes.

What

to serve with lasagna

There are quite a few different side dishes you can serve with lasagna. I’ll quickly mention some of my favorites.

As with any lasagna, this goes very well along with some freshly baked garlic bread. You can bake this in the oven or use a toaster.

A wide range of salads

will work perfectly as a side dish, but I recommend trying to keep salads lighter as lasagna is a pretty heavy dish

.

You can also make a variety of steamed vegetables to go aside. Something like broccoli, cauliflower, and snow peas will be delicious along with this tasty dish.

Of course, there are many more that go great with this recipe, so if you have a suggestion, be sure to share it with us by leaving a comment below.

There are some changes you can make to this recipe to make it more to your liking. Below are just a couple of suggestions.

For this recipe, I make a cheese sauce that can be hard to get right. If you prefer an easier layer of cheese, I recommend making a mixture of two cups of grated cheese, a cup of ricotta or cottage cheese, and finally a cup of grated Parmesan. Use this cheese mixture instead of the cheese sauce.

You can add more vegetables to the Bolognese sauce for extra flavor and also increase a little. Sometimes I like to add some mushrooms and peppers, but feel free to add any of your favorites.

If you come across a recipe change that you think is amazing and you’d like to share, be sure to let us know.

Save leftovers for lunch

If you have leftovers,

wrap them and freeze them or store them in the fridge

.

Leftovers taste pretty good, even overheated. I recommend reheating lasagna in a microwave or oven rather than in the slow cooker.

Another

slow cooker pasta dish I love is the pepperoni pizza casserole. It has a delicious tomato sauce, lots of cheese and a ton of pepperoni. Without a doubt, a must if you like pizza and pasta.

If you just want a super quick lasagna, then something like an easy, lazy lasagna that you make in the oven will be a better choice. The slow cooker version is great if you want to prepare dinner hours in advance, but it’s not great if you need it quickly.
