Ingredient Notes
How to Make a Boneless Turkey Breast in a Slow Cooker
Step 1 – Prepare the turkey and slow cooker
- Cut the net of the roast turkey with scissors and dry the turkey breast with paper towels
- Place the broth, onion, carrots, crushed garlic cloves, fresh rosemary, thyme, and sage sprigs at the bottom of the slow cooker.
.
Step 2 – Season
the Crockpot turkey roast
- In a small bowl, mix the olive oil with chopped garlic, chopped rosemary, chopped fresh sage, chopped fresh thyme, paprika, salt and pepper until combined.
- Rub the mixture over the roast turkey, covering the top, bottom, sides and under the skin of the turkey.
Step 3
– Cook turkey breast with vegetables
- Cook for 5-6 hours over low heat or until the internal temperature reaches 155-160 degrees F. Periodically test the internal temperature with an instant-read thermometer. This is an important step to avoid overcooking, as the cooking time will depend on the size of the roast and how cold it is when you place it in the slow cooker.
- Once the roast turkey reaches 155-160 degrees F, remove from the slow cooker and place it in a roasting pan.
How to get a crispy skin
disadvantage of cooking boneless turkey roast in the slow cooker is that the skin does not crust
. To help achieve a similar crunchy texture, roast the turkey over low heat for 5-10 minutes or until the surface is slightly golden and
crispy
and
the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F. The skin will brown well and become crispy!
