Baking
apple pies
The aromatic apple dough is perfect for making “apple pies”. Use canned jar lids as cake pans and create your own cupcakes with the kids. It’s a great way to develop fine motor skills and role plays together in the kitchen. In addition, these cakes are perfect for tea parties and “restaurant” games.
I have even more learning fun for your apple pie adventure! Check out How to Make an Apple Pie and See the World by Marjorie Priceman. With this book, you can explore different cultures and places around the world with a cute apple pie theme.
APPLE STEM ACTIVITIES WITH PLASTICINE
Build an
apple
Another fun hands-on activity you can do with apple-scented plasticine is building your own apples. It’s a great way to foster STEM building principles with kids. In addition, you can encourage toddlers and preschoolers to explore all the different “parts” of an apple. Perfect for a Montessori apple unit!
You will need this apple dough, cinnamon sticks and dried beans. Use dried beans as “seeds” for your apples and cinnamon sticks as stems. Let your kids have fun building their own apples with all the parts. It’s a great activity to allow kids to explore and learn independently as well.
