Pot au feu is a traditional French dish that includes meat, vegetables and herbs, all cooked in a nutritious stew. The name “pot au feu” in French means “burning pot”, and as you can imagine, the recipe goes back centuries.

In the Middle Ages, it was an open flame in a large kitchen fireplace, slowly cooking meat and vegetables in a boil until it became a plentiful ragoût.
