Sharing is caring!

I

just made an easy recipe for pressure meat and broccoli that I need to share with you! I love beef and broccoli, but when I order takeout, it looks salty. I feel like I’m trying to hydrate for days and days afterward. That’s part of this recipe inspiration. I needed to be able to control the amount of salt in the ingredients. The other part is because I have an Instant Pot pressure cooker, so meals like this are very easy! The hardest part is the cleaning!

2 pounds of meat (

chuck roast, rump roast or flank steak), thinly cut 3 tablespoons olive oil or peanut oil 1 medium onion, diced 1 cup beef broth (you can also use bone broth) 2 tablespoons garlic (fresh and chopped) 1/2 cup soy sauce (I prefer a low-sodium soy sauce) 2 tablespoons brown sugar (use Sukrin Gold brown sugar for a ketogenic version) 1 bag of frozen broccoli (or 1 pound of fresh broccoli if you prefer) 1 teaspoon ground ginger 2 tablespoons starch (sub 1 teaspoon xanthan gum if you are taking keto) Serve with white rice (substitute rice for rice to make this keto friendly)

How to season the meat and broccoli recipe

In a medium bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, beef broth, garlic, and ginger. I almost never use ginger, so I used ginger spice powder instead of fresh one. Do not add starch to the end. (I accidentally added the starch before and my pressure cooker never reached the pressure because there wasn’t enough liquid for it to work. Okay, I’m happy to share my failures with you so you don’t make the same mistakes I do)

How long to cook instant beef and broccoli

Add the meat combined with the liquid marinade to the pressure cooker and put it on high pressure manual for 10 minutes. The rapid pressure release value.

Carefully remove about 1/3 cup of hot juices and add 2 tablespoons of cornstarch. Use a fork or whisk to make sure the cornstarch is well combined. I find it easier to combine cornstarch in hot liquid. If you prefer, you can also use warm water. I’ve done it both ways and it hardly makes a difference. Add the mixture back into the pressure cooker and stir. You will notice that the liquid begins to thicken as it settles.

Frozen Broccoli

Place the pound of broccoli in the microwave over high heat for about 5 minutes with 1 cup of water. This will vaporize it to the perfect consistency. It works for both frozen and fresh broccoli.

Drain the broccoli water and mix it with the meat mixture in your pressure cooker. The meat and broccoli are ready and ready to serve over rice!

How to make instant

rice I

have two pressure cookers, so I had rice cooking in the other at the same time. Rice is super simple in the pressure cooker. It’s two cups of water for one cup of rice.

Cook it at manual high pressure for exactly 3 minutes and then release it naturally for another 10 minutes. Perfect rice every time! Sometimes I substitute water with broth. Meat, chicken or vegetable broth depending on the dish you are preparing. I used the rest of the beef broth in my rice for this recipe.
