What are frozen meals?
Frozen meals are
meals that are prepared in advance and then placed in the freezer to be used at a later date.
This can be done
by simply doubling a recipe and freezing half for later or it can be done in bulk and stocking your freezer with plenty of pre-made meals that only require heating.
Just like you can buy convenient food in the freezing section of the grocery store, home-cooked meals for freezing are the same idea: Pre-made foods that you can take and heat for a home-made, nutritious and healthy meal in a hurry.

How long will my 50 Easy Freezer Meal last? Do the recipes last
in the freezer?
Most foods are good in the freezer for up to 90 days before they start burning from freezing.
We recommend that you eat your frozen meals within 60 days , just to make sure it still tastes amazing.
Freeze burn is virtually inevitable with all frozen foods, but you have the chance of lasting longer if you get as much air out of the ziploc package or bag as possible.
We prefer to use resealable plastic bags to put our frozen meals (rather than baking sheets or other containers) because it can squeeze or suck in almost all of the air, which will help it last longer in the freezer.
How do I thaw frozen meals?
Defrosting food is one of the most important parts of preparing frozen meals!
Most foods take 24 to 48 hours to thaw in the fridge, so plan accordingly! I usually take my food out of the freezer at least 24 hours before cooking. I put my food in the fridge to let it thaw during that time.
If you don’t have time or forget to take it out of the freezer, you can also use the “defrost” feature on your microwave to quickly defrost it. However, if your frozen food is in an aluminum container, you can’t put it in the microwave.
Can I cook a frozen meal?
I would recommend thawing it first, but if you don’t have time, you can cook your frozen food. For frozen cooking, plan to add about 50% more time than the cooking time indicated in the recipe.
For example, if a recipe made me cook the casserole for 30 minutes, I would plan to cook it for at least 45 minutes (maybe more, you want to make sure the whole dish is heated).
