Notes: 1. Base pay rate for Academy Cadets/Midshipmen and ROTC Members/Applicants is $1217.10. 2. For rank titles, see volume 7a for comparable grades. 3. Basic pay for a senior enlisted member (grade E-9) is $9,355.50 regardless of years of service while served as: a. Senior Enlisted Advisor to the President, Joint Chiefs of Staff; b. sergeant major of the army; c. chief petty officer of the navy; d. air force chief sergeant major; me. sergeant major of the marine corps; F. space force chief sergeant major; gram. Coast Guard Petty Officer Captain; or h. Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chief of the National Guard Bureau. 4. If a member is placed on terminal leave pending retirement immediately after completing service as a senior enlisted member in a department of the military, the member is entitled to senior senior enlisted pay $9,355.50 up to a maximum of 60 days. if a member is hospitalized, and during or immediately prior to such hospitalization, completed service as a senior enlisted member of the armed forces of that military department, the member shall continue to be entitled, for not more than 180 days while hospitalized, at the rate of basic salary authorized for a senior enlisted member. *5. must have 4 months of active duty or more. *6. base pay for an e-1 with less than 4 months of active duty is $1,695.00.
