What are

pork chops?

Pork chops are a versatile cut of pork from pork loin. The loin is a muscle that extends from the shoulder to the back of the pig. All pork chops are from this area, but they can come in different cuts like loin rib chops, shoulder stores, and sirloin chops.

What kind of pork chops to use Pork chops

can be purchased with bone or boneless. You can use either in this recipe. Boneless pork chops are the same as a bone, only with the bone removed and the fat trimmed. Boneless pork chops are leaner because of this. While some people will say that bone-in pork chops have more flavor, I personally have no preference. For this recipe I used boneless, but if you use bone, you don’t need to adjust the cooking time. You can make this recipe with up to 2 pounds of pork chops.

Make this Whole30 compatible To

make this compact cooker pork recipe compatible with Whole30, you need to follow 4 easy steps:

  • Replace heavy cream with whole coconut milk
  • Skip Parmesan cheese and use 2 tablespoons of nutritional yeast
  • Use ghee instead of butter
  • If you use a starch thickening agent, use arrowroot starch.

It’s

time

to make the cream sauce when there are 30 minutes left in the cooking time. Remove the pork chops and add the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. I also add a suspension as a thickening agent. Cornstarch mixed with water is an option, but personally my favorite is arrowroot flour. I mix 1 tablespoon with 1 tablespoon of water and add it to the slow cooker with the cream.
