!
This is an easy and quick dish to prepare for almost any dinner. I love serving broccoli with chicken, fish or pasta! It’s so versatile.
You can also play with the seasonings! Depending on the flavor profile you want, you can use almost any spice in broccoli. Try swapping it out with some garlic powder, onion powder, and oregano for an Italian theme. Or you can try it with a little cumin and coriander! Yum!
Health Benefits of
Broccoli
There are so many reasons why adding more broccoli to your diet is a great idea! Not only can it taste delicious when cooked, but it is also very nutritious.
Here are some of the health benefits
of broccoli:
- Broccoli is loaded with a ton of vitamins, minerals, and fiber. These include vitamin C, A, K, B8, potassium, phosphorus and selenium.
- Broccoli also contains powerful antioxidants that help keep your cells and tissues healthy.
- It may help prevent cancer, as studies have shown that cruciferous vegetables contain bioactive compounds.
- Eating broccoli supports digestive regularity and healthy gut bacteria.
How to prepare
sautéed
broccoli First be sure to wash your broccoli before you start. Then cut the
stems and cut the broccoli head into smaller pieces so that it cooks faster and is easy to bite.
Next, add some olive oil or vegetable oil to a large skillet. You can use as much or as little as you want. Nonstick pans don’t need much oil.
Then add your broccoli to the pan.
Then add some salt, pepper and garlic powder or any other you prefer!
Place the pan on the stove. Light the fire to high.
Wait until the pan warms up and the oil is sizzling. Then mix the broccoli with a spatula.
Then cover the pan with a lid and reduce the heat to medium-low. Let cook undisturbed for 3 minutes.
Then uncap the pan and mix the broccoli. It should be well golden at the bottom.
Turn the heat back to medium-high and cook, stirring every minute, for about 5 minutes, or until cooked to your preference.
You can try a piece and see if you like it and if you need more time, keep cooking.
Transfer to a plate when ready and let cool slightly before serving.

Cooking tip
Did you know that broccoli stalks are edible? Yes, it’s true!
What I like to do is use a peeler to remove the hard outer layer from the stem. Then I cut the stem into thin slices and sauté it with other vegetables. It becomes very tender and delicious!
