Tasty Slow Cooker Pepper Steak – Slow Cooking Perfected

Pepper steak recipe slow cooker

This tasty slow-cooked pepper steak cooks to be filled with a ton of flavor and has just amazing tender chunks of beef.

Pepper fillet is traditionally a dish that is fried, but surprisingly it works quite well in the slow cooker. It’s the perfect dinner dish that’s super easy to prepare and has hours of cooking ahead of you when you need it.

This slow cooker version of pepper fillet features sliced peppers, meat slices, and thick onion slices. This combination is cooked in a sauce that has soy, tomatoes, meat broth and a combination of other ingredients. To make sure the sauce is nice and thick, we use some cornstarch.

You can serve this dish with a bunch of different sides, but for me, white rice is what I usually decide to cook. Alternatively, you can try using something like noodles, roasted potatoes, mashed potatoes, fresh bread, and much more.

Pepper fillet is also an excellent dressing on some roasted potatoes or jacket potatoes. It’s a great way to feed more people from a single batch of this recipe.

What cut of meat to use

for pepper steak

As I mention in the handy cooking tips at the bottom of this page, it’s best to use a hard cut of beef. This choice of meat is due to the fact that we will cook the meat for a long time. The meat will come out pleasant and tender at the end of cooking.

Harder cuts of meat tend to be cheaper, so it’s a great way to save a little money. So try to find a cut like baboon, round, breast or even meat stems.

It is worth preserving the leftovers of this dish. You can simply store them in the fridge or freezer. You can use leftovers for lunch the next day or as part of a meal like nachos. You could even use it as a filler for some tacos.
