This stew is one of my Gram specialties, and I know you’ll enjoy it as much as my family!
Now, as I mentioned… This hearty stew is only made with a few pantry/refrigerator staples that you probably already have on hand.

To make chicken stew

- Combine all ingredients except green peas and stir together.
- Put your crockpot on low heat for 6 hours and you’re ready to go
- When you’re done cooking, add the frozen peas and enjoy!

Yes, you can freeze chicken stew! This stew freezes very well. In fact, I usually receive 3 or 4 small containers and divide the leftovers from the pot once we finish eating it for dinner.

When it’s ready to eat, simply thaw the night before or put it in the microwave.
Can you thicken chicken stew in Crock Pot?
This stew gets quite thick naturally, but if you prefer you can add cornstarch or arrowroot powder.
Mix a tablespoon
of cornstarch or arrowroot powder with a tablespoon of water.
Add the suspension to the stew for the last 30 minutes while cooking and let it thicken.
