I mean you can use what you like to make meat and sauce tips. Stew meat like the chuck roast already cut into cubes in the store is the cheapest and is super tender. If I have steaks that need to be used, I could use them. Use what you have on hand, I always say.

Why do we love this recipe? Let me count the ways! If you’re like us, you cook a lot of ground beef and like to change it a bit throughout the week. That’s why I use stew meat quite often.
Since it’s packed with protein, but pretty cheap compared to other cuts, it’s a no-brainer when planning meals.

Comfort food at its finest, I tell you. You can find a variety of ways to do this online. Some use mushroom soup cream and I’ve tried that, I think the sauce has a lot more flavor.
- If you buy stew meat it will already be cut into cubes and ready. Using any other cut and you will have to do it yourself. The smaller the pieces, the more tender the meat.
- Put your meat, packet of dried onion soup mix, diced onions and sauce in your pot. You could also add onion and garlic powder. Add the seasonings of your choice. Stir everything together so that it is covered.
- Cover with lid and cook for 6-8 hours over low heat. As soon as the pieces are tender, they will be ready!
- Use a ladle and serve in a small bowl over 1/2 cup of egg noodles or served over mashed potatoes.

This is a great recipe that you can leave thick once it’s ready, or dilute a little with a little meat broth. I prefer as thick as possible. It just depends on the type of day ahead of me in terms of my cooking method.

What can I use stew meat for in addition to stew
There are TONS of options, but this one is probably at the top of the list. Need others?

If you like slow cooker stew, I would also use this cut, or Dutch oven stew is also killer.
Can cooked meat be reheated?
Yes!! If you’re going to want to reheat, be sure to put leftovers in airtight containers within an hour and refrigerate.

Consume leftover meat in the refrigerator within three to four days. Before consuming, make sure the internal temperature is at least 165°F to make it safe.
Can cooked meat be reheated in the microwave?
Reheating beef in a microwave is obviously the fastest option overall. BUT know that reheating anything more than a couple of minutes will likely result in it becoming quite dry.
To make it a little better, place whatever you want to eat in a microwave dish. Add a small amount of broth inside, mix with sauce and protein, and top with a microwave-safe lid to keep moist.

The best way to save cooked meat
You should store it separately from your side dishes. As always, you should make sure the meat is at room temperature before transferring it to an airtight container. Make sure all the air is out and add as much sauce or sauce on top as you can, this will keep the moisture out. You’ll also want it when you overheat.
When you reheat cooked meat, you should do it low and slow. If you are using a microwave, do so in 30-second increments stirring between times. You can also use a small pot on the stove over medium-low heat.
